Finishing your Batik
OK.  Now that you own a batik, how are you going to frame it and hang it?  

There are 2 popular methods of displaying your batik.  You can stretch it like a canvas or frame it like any other piece of art.  There is no preferred method but you still must ensure that you keep it from direct sun light.
In this example, all we have done is stretched the batik.
After stretching, this one is 50" x 24".

One new trend is to frame the sretched batik with a "floating" frame.  
It's a little hard to see exactly how it looks.

Here's an image that shows how the art "floats" in the frame.

This is "batik" from Uganda measures 13" x 16".

The finished size is 20" x 23".

This batik has been framed so that the natural edges are visible.

This item is also from Uganda but is made from the bark of a tree.   The final sixe is 20" x 25".
